Have you ever procrastinated? What happens when you face an immovable deadline? Do you finally jump in? What do you discover? Have you ever jumped in and within a short period of time looked up and gleefully exclaimed, "Wow! That wasn't so hard!" Are you ever surprised?
Let's go back in time to your formal school days. Did you ever wait until the last minute to complete a term paper or project? With an external deadline looming ever closer, at what point did you finally jump in with both feet? Were you ever surprised how quickly it all came together? Were you ever pleasantly surprised by the grade you received? Did you ever wonder what your instructor or professor might have done if they knew how little time you spent? Smile for this last question. Did you ever view yourself as a very good B.S. artist? Is it possible that the external deadline forced you to quiet the noise of doubt and fear in your mind - doubt about your ability, fear about the magnitude of the project, doing it perfectly, having enough time to focus and the energy required? Is it possible that action reduced this fear and anxiety sufficiently to reveal your natural genius? In 1968, Og wrote in Scroll IX,
When this was written, axiological mathematics, on which the 6 Advisors™ Assessment Report is based, was in its infancy and neuroscience was embryonic, yet in this poetic and poignant verse Og reveals the hidden secret for accessing our natural genius. This is not action for action sake. It is action consciously directed at shutting up the noise in our head - the fear that can echo so loudly in the depths of our hearts and the deep recesses of our minds. Action is the most powerful tool we can employ to uncover, discover and maximize the full potential of our often deeply buried natural genius. Og’s invitation is to consciously create internal deadlines – self-imposed, self-directed, a personal choice with personal accountability, acting on OUR own moral authority! When we consciously discipline ourselves to do so, we release our natural genius. It emerges from the dust and ashes of self-doubt and self-criticism and often to such an extent that we are surprised. When our natural genius is released we get to have a glimpse into our real worth. We get to know our real self. A sense of accomplishment, meaning and purpose replace fear and doubt. As surprise graciously becomes ownership our self-esteem begins to heal. We rejoice. No more over compensating arrogance or timidity just joy and wholeness. Action also activates the first of two principles in the law of abundance – acknowledgement of the gifts with which we have already been endowed. Fully maximizing these gifts allows an abundant universe to endow even more ability. Action without vision is just boring, mundane, repetitious work. Vision without action is fantasy. In my next article we will explore the difference between a creator and a fantasizer and help explain why the modern millionaire magic doctrine is misguided and potentially harmful. Many love the myth of Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy. It is time for all who truly want to turn their dreams into reality and to live a joyful and abundant life to face the myth of the Fantasy Fairy…more to come! Comments (6)

Concept and ideas simply poured in out of nowhere which i believed can come out a satisfactory result but due to failure on my part to take immediate action the ideas and concept simply remain in a blueprint.Procrastination simply because of "FEAR" of not making it the way i expected it to be. Now i decided to get rid of "fear" set time table to achieve everything as plans. ...

written by Paul Dodenhoff , Fri, January 02, 2009 at 09:18:28 AM Hi, What a perfect article for me to read today. I have been a life-long procrastinator (heck, I'm even late with responding to this article!)I chuckled when you asked if I ever thought of myself as a good b.s. artist! My motto used to be (and I emphasize used to be) was "If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, you can baffle them with b.s.!" And that is how I truly lived for just about all of my life until recently. After almost 52 years of living, my procrastination (fear), dishonesty (fear), and other character flaws (all fear-based) finally caught up with me as I lost almost everything I had (monetarily and materially not a lot since I never really applied myself to any real honest endeavors)including my wife and family. The consequences of fear-based procrastination brought me to the place where I finally had to admit that I was an alcoholic and needed help - from others and from my God - and needed to change my life. I recalled reading "The Greatest Salesman In The World" years ago and decided to see if there was an Og Mandino website. ell, that's why I'm here. I'm challenged to improve myself each day and your site is one of the places I turn to for guidance and inspiration as I do the difficult work of turning my life and the life of my family around. Things aren't perfect (progress not perfection is my new motto) but they sure are much better and getting better each day. Thanks for your work and your inspiration! ...
written by Gibran Hakim , Thu, August 07, 2008 at 08:32:40 AM This not only concerns abundance in a monetary sense but also in a spiritual sense. Doing the right thing. By helping others you help yourself. Just to paraphrase the Word Of Og: 'happiness comes not from getting but from giving.'. Og Mandino books make people stand out as Great Leaders when the programs are done and applied. That is what the world needs more of. There is a lot to 'Feeling Good'. You must embody the leader and the way to do that is most certainly through Action. ..but then again..to say it and to do it.. aha!!..theirein lies the difference. And that is what makes the difference between a leader and a contemplator. ...
written by Paul Martin , Sun, January 20, 2008 at 03:48:27 PM First a confession, I am one of the many who have lived a fantasy. I have had a vision, but I have failed to take the appropriate actions to make it a reality. Since I have violated natural laws how could I have ever expected my vision to come true - it could not! Thanks for setting the record straight. Now I'm ready to learn, but not to learn for learnings sake. I am ready to learn so that I can take action to make my vision a reality. ...
