An Alcohol Recovery Support Program Worthy of Og’s Legacy In 1968, Og wrote the perennial bestseller, The Greatest Salesman in the World. It was on the heels of his own journey of recovery from alcohol abuse. In his early years, Og suffered some terrible and deeply personal losses due to his alcohol abuse. In his later years, he invested countless hours and a great deal of his personal resources assisting people struggling with alcoholism. Og received numerous letters from individuals who were supported in their alcohol recovery by his words. He personally answered each one. The day of Og’s funeral one of the most famous country western singers of all time called Bette and expressed his deep gratitude for Og’s work and how it had helped him find and maintain sobriety. He has since passed away and we will honor his anonymity. Over the past ten years we have continued Og’s legacy of supporting individuals in overcoming their trials and conquering their challenges including numerous individuals struggling with alcohol abuse. It is miraculous and humbling to witness the support Og’s words can provide. Take a few moments today and re-read Scroll V, I will live this day as if it my last. Whatever challenges you are facing, you may find new insights, strength and courage from Og’s words. In the spring of 2008 the seeds of a more formal program dedicated to supporting those struggling with alcohol abuse were firmly planted. It was a beautiful sunny day in Sacramento California, eight long years into the process of bringing Og teachings into the 21st Century. Much would need to be created before an affordable program could become a reality. Our assessment would need to be available online including a basic interpretation of the results. The training materials would need to be delivered to the masses via yet undeveloped computer based learning systems. As the economy continued to deteriorate throughout the balance of 2008, it was becoming increasing clear that we would need these systems for almost everyone if we were to accomplish our mission of getting Og’s message out to the masses. On December 30th of that same year, the idea finally came - a clear vision for how to present our assessment online. Over the next nine months we invested heavily while working nearly around the clock to perfect the process. This was an exciting time of inspired development driven by a clear mission – create affordable ways to bless people’s lives. In the first week of September of 2009, we held the first training on the new system for 34 of our current coaches. Following this three-day training, we were perfectly positioned to apply this new online delivery system to a variety of challenges such as alcohol abuse, weight loss and credit correction and repair. Alluring opportunities presented themselves almost immediately. During the week of March 15, 2010 and after experiencing some hopeful starts and painful stops, it was as if the heavens opened and the right partners finally surfaced. Within the matter of three days, every critical piece needed was finally in place. This included brand new and patent pending technology needed to provide unprecedented levels of support for those struggling with alcohol abuse. Usually miracles are only miracles in retrospect, but the miracles experienced this week were obvious to everyone involved as they unfolded. The development portion of this journey is drawing to a close. It is time to get the word out. In June of 2010 we will launch Og Mandino’s New Life Support – supporting and deepening the journey of alcohol recovery. Comments (4)

written by Gerson Martinez , Sun, June 20, 2010 at 01:19:43 AM Thank you for the opportunity to share my comments, my name is Gerson Martinez and I've been sober since May 13th, 1990 there is so much that I'd like to share, but I've got to start somehow, I read some of Og's books a few years back, my first 7 years of recovery, was all about recovery, then I started my own personal development, so is fair to say that for the last 13 years I've been working on me, by ways of reading personal development books, listening to the same info over and over again, one of things that I've wanted to do since I started thinking straight was to form a recovery house, and it has been there since I remember, a few days back I just started thinking about Og's books, and decide to go on line and Google it, and here I am writing this comment, I have no idea where this is going to take me, but I learned to trust my instincts, I should mention that i had to overcome drug addiction, and alcoholism, I've been to hell and back. I hope this helps somehow, my only goal in life today is to serve humanity, and help others as I've been helped, my life is awesome, but I know there is so much work yet to do Write comment
